The end is in sight

These pictures are actually from last week, but the husband is all hogging the computer with his schoolwork. Someday we will have a laptop and we can both hog the computer and it'll be great.

It'll be super exciting in a few days when my shawl is blocked and finished and it'll be like I'm posting and knitting at a normal speed. Which is, of course, assuming the husband isn't hogging the computer again. In non-knitting news, it's been a week since I played soccer and kept covering "ankle kicker guy." One week later, and I still have a kankle.
Isn't "kankle" a great word? Unfortunately connotation, especially since that's usually more a genetic predisposition towards ankle bone size, but still great.

Since I'm at the end, I've been scoping out new patterns for the next project. I'm going to try very hard to convince someone I know to have a baby so i can knit them this: http://www.purlbee.com/snuggle-sack/2008/10/8/whits-knits-snuggle-sack-and-bonus-hat.html?lastPage=true&postSubmitted=true

Is that not the cutest thing ever?

It's spelled "CANKLE" ...

I think anonymous could have been nicer, but it is cankle, from calf-ankle. You know, like your ankles are so big they're just extensions of your calves. I wouldn't have actually corrected you, though--I think that's sort of rude (plus, how bored do you have to be to just go to blogs and leave comments correcting people's spelling? Get a life, anon!). At any rate, I LOVE that word :)

Can you lure the husband away from the computer with sports on television or something?

LOVE your shawl. Beautiful lace work, and I love the color.

Hi Allison,
I'm actually a coworker of Mary's and I was only making a joke. I can see how it would come across as rude and impolite and would like to apologize to anyone I may have offended with my comment (although, to be fair, Mary laughed when she read it).
Also, I would just like to point out that I only read Mary's blog once a week and don't usually comment - this was just for my amusement. I enjoy seeing Mary's weekly progress in knitting (and am the coworker mentioned that taught the Russian the pinkie swear). I promise I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else, and hope you have a fantastic day!
